ABOUT ME

IMG_5839.HEIC

In 2016, I graduated from The Ohio State University with a BAE in Art Education.  Three years later in 2019, I received my MA in Art Education at The Ohio State University.

Currently, I am an Art Teacher at Lake Silver Elementary in Orlando, FL.  Over the past 5 years, I have taught numerous courses such as K-5 Art, Beginning Art 2D, Drawing 1, Painting 1, Painting 2, Drawing 2, Drawing Honors Portfolio, and AP Studio Art Drawing/2D Design.  During my summers, I have taught at the Naples Art Association in downtown Naples, and as an AP reader for AP College Board.

When I am not teaching, I work as a Freelance Artist.  I create Portrait drawings of people and animals, and enjoy experimenting with all types of 2D art.

Why I Teach

As an educator, I believe that my job in the classroom is to challenge students’ creative minds by exploring art making processes and techniques that develop skills and practices to create new artistic ideas.  All courses surround the basics of art that lay a foundation where students can build their ideas on, such as the Elements of Art and the Principles of Design.  In addition, students focus on different skills and techniques that help them create their own meaning making and style.
